Launching of the Sohag State of Hospital Quality Report 2016

In the period between  January 17th and August 1st 2016, Sohag community assessors have been active visiting hospitals, assessing them based on the assessment tools and methodologies they were trained to use, validating the data and releasing the final report that describes the state of hospitals’ patient-centered quality of care in Sohag.

On Wednesday August 3rd, the national project coordinator and representatives of Shamseya visited the city of Sohag to join the assessors in their meeting with the Undersecretary of the Minister of Health Doctor Youssry Bayoumy.

The meeting included a detailed presentation of the govenorate’s final report and drawing the outlines of the future plans.

The undersecretary highlighted the expected areas of improvement the ministry commits to undertake in the upcoming year and assured his willingness and commitment to maintain a healthy periodic dialogue with the community assessors to monitor the state of the health services quality.

The meeting was followed by a press conference which was held at the Sohag Cancer Centre, the highest achieving medical facility in the governorate according to the 2016 assessments.

In the conference, the local team presented their findings and invited the different attendants to join the efforts pursuing better healthcare quality in Sohag.
